Bio
Zachary W. Jarvis began his career as a lawyer in 2005 by writing appeals for indigent persons. Through six years in the trenches as a public defender in King County, Zach and his clients enjoyed an atypical streak of trial victories. Prior to becoming a founding partner of Hart Jarvis Murray Chang PLLC, Zach had been an associate attorney in a private, predominantly civil practice in South King County.
Zach has been lead or co-counsel on over twenty-six trials. Zach’s experience in criminal, civil, and appellate practice runs the spectrum from representing a man accused of murder to representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters and suits against employers or government actors. Zach has been involved in complex litigation and appellate work to the level of the State Supreme Court. Zach is proud to have always represented individuals against powerful entities.

In the past several years, Zach has been able to secure dismissals through his detailed motions practice, for example the dismissal with prejudice of a DUI charge where the driver was found asleep in a vehicle with the engine on in a busy intersection. He has negotiated outcomes that achieved clients’ unique goals through creativity and attention to detail.
At the same time, he is prepared to go to trial when alternatives fail. He has diligently prepared and doggedly pursued justice for clients in long-term litigation in a variety of contexts and sometimes against all odds.
Education
While in law school, Zach participated in both mock trial and the arts law clinic. As a law student, he also studied abroad in India. When away from the office Zach enjoys movies of all eras, drawing, going to concerts, and spending time with his wife and son. He has traveled extensively throughout Northern Europe, Asia, and Mexico.
